'Spider Princess' page

Hello everyone,

One quick post today; last minute submission to two challenges;

Firstly, I found my inspiration in  this great mood board by Scrap Around The World:

Which is all about fashion, I loved the theme of the mood board as well as those blue colours,

Then, I used this sketch:

from the Berry71bleu August challenge.

And my page is:

My beautiful daughter featuring her spider costume I made last Halloween for her.

For this page she stitched the spider-web by hand then I started splattering, gessoing and spritzing the page. I used:

  • Papers - 7Dots Studio
  • Mists ; Dylusion and Tattered Angels,
  • Inks Prima for edging and Ranger Archival for stamping
  • Stamps : Ranger by Tim Holtz
  •  Flower is by Prima
  • Spiders are made using Tim Holtz die, groungeboard and black Flocking powder
  • Wire and stickers used for title by Prima
And that is all, I not sure of the black pearls, they might be Trimcraft

Hope you have a nice day and thank you very much for your visit.

Prima BAP August Challenge

Hi again,

I know it is very unusual for me to post twice in a day, but I would like to submit one more page to one more great challenge and this time it is Prima BAP, you can see everything about it here. I so loved the sketch by Jennifer

that I decided to break my stash diet and get some flowers and bits and bobs that would go with Prima Sea-Shore papers that I already got.

There is my entry:

One of the rules for Prima challenges is to use Prima products which I love and my Prima products are:
  • Sea-Shore papers, flowers (used flowers from two packs), resins, brads, clips
  • Wire
  • Stencil
  •  pebbles
  • chalk edger

The other products are: modeling paste by Golden, mist Coffee Shops by Tattered Angels,  cheese cloth and embroidery thread, chipboard by: Dusty Attic (fishing net) and Fab Scraps (Perfect), Distress Paint, Gesso and Perfect Perls by Ranger

Thank you for your visit and have a lovely day. xx

'Man in my life' - Once Upon a Sketch Challenge

Hello lovely people

August is nearly over, I cannot believe!!! I created page to play along Once Upon A Sketch Challenge. The journalling theme for August is 'Men in your life' and I decided to dedicate my page to my husband;

The page is based on this awesome sketch by Nadia:

I used Basic Grey Serenade paper pack and alphabet stickers, some Faber Castell Gelatos, Prima mechanicals and buttons and my Spellbinder die- 'Create a Rose', not sure of origin of chipboard and twine, I got those while ago. Mechanicals are coloured with Silks.

I hope you like the page, here is one close-up:

Have a nice day xxx

Finnabair's Workshop

Hello everyone,

I have been privileged to attend Finnabair's workshop back in April, and finally I got around taking a photos of things I made.

First class was a 12x12 page, excellent techniques for using up all those scraps of papers and my page is:

The page is made using plain card, 7DotsStudio papers, Prima stencils, lots of Prima embellishments, Prima mists and some die-cuts.

On the second class we were making a canvas and this is my result:

And that was not all. I thought the horse would be nice gift for my older daughter and the little-one had a broken heart, so I had to take it back from DD1 until I made one more for Sara. This one is with my limited supply at home:

The main supply is: Prima Mechanicals, Primary elements and Silks by Luminart, black gesso by Ranger, Heavy Gel.

If you ever had a chance to attend Finn's workshop I would suggest do it even if you are not into messy crafting you will love it, some other people did it and they loved it. She is magical; you can see more of her art here

Thank you very much for your visit. I have few more pages to share for few challenges, so hopefully I will be back tomorrow.

Pattern Palooza Challenge

Hi everyone,

As I announced yesterday, I have one more page for July challenge to submit; this time is at Berry71Bleu and it is about pattern papers, so the rule is to use at least 3 patterns and this mood board:

And my page is:

This was photo of my daughter from St. Patrick's Day dancing show.

Materials used are:
Pattern papers by Prima (Lifetime and Hello Pastel collections), tape by Prima Lifetime, Mechanicals, wooden shapes and 2 flowers as well as clip, raisin all by Prima, one flower by Petaloo, and a big fabric flower is my own creation. For inking edges I used PanPastels  (had a perfect colour in those), I cannot recall pin-sticks, as I had it for ages, I coloured all metal parts with silks and wooden with PanPastels, used Tattered Angeles mists, some Dylusion inks for splatter and Hero Arts stamp 'La Letter' (my favourite script stamp) with Ranger Archival ink. Small doily is made by my mum many years ago.

Thank you so much for your visit and any comments xx

'You at 7' - Once Upon a Sketch Challenge

Hello lovely people,

I hope you are all well and enjoy your time whenever you are.  I have one quick post for you today inspired once again by Once Upon a Sketch July Challenge. This Challenge is about numbers and as usual there is a sketch to be used as starting point:

and journalling/title criteria, which is to be something about numbers.

I did a page of my girl when she was 7 and put a notes about her likes from that time:

For this page I used some leftover of Prima Papers from last year, and some leftovers of 7 Dot Studio papers, these two usually go together very well, trims, wire, brad, teal mist washi tape and mechanicals are all by Prima. Yellow mist and book plate are by Ranger, leaves are die cuts using new Tim Holtz die and the flowers, fabric as well as mulberry paper roses are my own handmade creations. In addition I used Prima stencil, Hero Arts stamp and Modeling paste by Golden, paints are Silks by LuminArt, archival inks by Ranger and chalk ink by Colorbox.

Few close-ups:

Hope you like my page.

I prepared few more pages to play this months, hopefully I will manage to post them today or tomorrow, so watch out this space.

Thank you very much for your visit and any comment.

Teacher's Gifts

Hi everybody,

It looks like I have been posting on this  blog only when I play challenge for last 2 years. I would like to break that habit with today's post and share with you something I made together with my 8 years old daughter for her teacher this year:

This is 6x6 canvas that I stamped at first using textured stamp (Bo Bunny), then I applied some modeling paste trough stencil (Prima), once dried we gessoed it and sticked some cheese cloths for more texture. At this stage my daughter get loose with mists (some Dylusions and Glimmer mists), when we were happy with the background, she decided on the decorations, so we die-cut the branch and bird from chipboard, then she coloured them up (used Silks), and I made fabric flower, all dies are by Sizzix Tim Holtz, I added one Prima rose and printed out the quote by Mark Twain :

I used parchment paper for printing, cut out the words and additionally inked the edges. The canvas was very shinny, my mobile-phone snaps do not give it a justice. I think it is a nice decoration for either a class or home.

And I made this tag and Sara wrote her own note at the back.

I do hope gifts like this are more appropriate then giving something material or more personal. If you don't know person very well, how can you buy a personal gift for her/him? Box of chocolate might seem as a good idea, but maybe that poor teacher is just working so hard to get herself fit for her last year's bikini, LOL. I would like to hear what other mothers and teachers if any around think of all this.

Thanks and have a lovely day.
